We went to Assisi, Italy simply because Abigail wanted to go to the home of Saint Francis. It really felt like we were stalking some priests on our way there, because one had first helped us with buying the tickets to get on the train when someone else was trying to butt in and help us but we didn't want their help. The priest just told the guy to leave us alone basically and we went back to work on buying our tickets. Then we got on the same train compartment as him and his priest buddies and they all got off at Assisi and took the same bus from the train station into Assisi that we took.
Once we got into Assisi, we went to our hostel. It wasn't in Assisi, but rather was a ways away from it. We dropped our stuff off there, however check in wasn't until 4pm so we couldn't get into the rooms yet. We were okay with just leaving our bags in the kitchen though until check in time and then headed to explore Assisi. We were only spending that one day there before heading back to Rome to catch our flight to Prague, so we had to make the best of it. We started out walking through some Arch that was kinda cool called "Porta San Pietro". The first thing we wanted while we were there was food because we hadn't had breakfast. We had asked for breakfast at our hostel in Rome but they had messed up and not gotten it for us since we were checking out earlier than any of the hostel workers arrived. They weren't very nice about it either in all honesty. Anyhoo, we found something to eat before continuing on our way to the place Abigail wanted to see.
Disclaimer: I wrote this back in 2016 and don't feel like adding more onto it. I don't fully remember what happened when we were in Assisi other than I'd be more than willing to go back.
